Professor Farrell has been chosen as President-Elect of the Society for Classical Studies. He takes office in January 2017, and will become President of the organization in January 2018.
The SCS was founded as the American Philological Association in 1869 by "professors, friends, and patrons of linguistic science." It is the principal learned society in North America for the study of ancient Greek and Roman languages, literatures, and civilizations.
