Digital Humanities Tools for Research in Classical Studies

An overview to DH tools for student and faculty researchers at every level. Digital humanities tools can enrich scholarship in Classical Studies by facilitating serendipitous discovery through text comparison and text analysis, enhancing visual representation of material culture, and illustrating change over time and space. Sasha Renninger and Scott Enderle, digital humanities experts from the Penn Libraries, will provide a look at the possibilities provided by a handful of tools including, Juxta and Voyant for text analysis, Omeka and Scalar for digital exhibits (including 3D representation), and mapping and timeline software to illustrate change over or across historical periods.
