Amy Lewis will defend her dissertation, 

Aristophanes and the Poetics of Low Comedy

with a public presentation on

Friday 28 February 2020,

1:30-3pm in BENN 401

Here is how she describes her project: "My dissertation explores the relationship between Aristophanes and traditional "low-brow" comedy (ἡ κωμῳδία φορτική), and I ultimately argue that for Aristophanes the low comic is an essential element of the comic genre."
