Jane Sancinito received her Ph.D. from Penn's Ancient History Graduate Group in April of 2018. She received her B.A. Hons. in Literae Humaniores (Classics) from Oxford University in 2011. In 2015, she received the Dean’s Award for Distinguished Teaching, and in the 2016-2017 academic year Jane served as a graduate fellow in Penn's Center for Teaching and Learning.Her dissertation, Merchants in the Later Roman Empire, focused on the social and economic lives of merchants from the 2nd to 4th centuries CE. Her research interests include Roman social history, ancient economic history, and ancient numismatics, which are well represented in her article in the most recent issue of the Penn Museum's Expedition magazine.
