At the Marathon Reading of Emily Wilson’s translation of the Odyssey at the Kelly Writer’s House on Thurs, April 24, readers from the Classical Studies department served as readers for some of the pivotal scenes from the epic. We got the hero past the Sirens, and through careful timing, it was Classical Studies majors Alyssa Mulé and Maggie Danaher who read the poem's final pages, in which (spoiler alert) Odysseus is reunited with his father Laertes. After an 11:00am start, the poem was complete at 8.31pm. Thanks to the Kelly Writers House for hosting the event!
