Lilly Haave is a first year student who received her BA from Pomona College in 2023 with a major in Classics and minor in Philosophy. Her undergraduate thesis, "Back to the Beloved Ground: the Myth of Cadmus and Colonial Anxieties in Euripides and Pseudo-Apollodorus," examined the myth of Cadmus through lenses of anti-colonial and queer theory. Her research interests include ancient hagiographies, animal studies, and the ancient novel. At Pomona, she organized efforts to incorporate decolonization and anti-racism into the culture of the department, work which she hopes to continue. In her spare time, Lilly enjoys crocheting, playing Dungeons & Dragons with her friends, and doting on her pet snake, Dangerous Brian.
