Title:  "Painting and Pose in Aeschylus and Beyond "

Abstract: This paper explores painting and gesture in Aeschylus’ Agamemnon, in particular the way in which the two are linked to personhood and erasure. An explication of a key passage also leads to broader discussions about the connection between stagecraft and other artistic traditions of the time.
